TRAVELLER STORIES
The itinerary ends.
The story is what stays.
Every journey begins differently.
Sometimes it is a first trip to India. Sometimes someone is returning with family. Sometimes the challenge is age, pace, wildlife availability, altitude, logistics or simply fitting very different interests into one journey.
These stories are about the people behind the itineraries — what mattered to them, how we shaped the journey and what stayed with them afterwards.

REAL JOURNEY · FROM NIVEDAN'S ARCHIVE
He came back — and brought his friends.
Some journeys begin long before the itinerary is written.
Jorgen first travelled with me in 2014 as part of a student group from Aarhus, Denmark. He requested me again for another group the following year.
In 2019, he returned to India with his friends.
This time, the journey took us through sacred Vrindavan, the Taj Mahal, Rajasthan's painted towns, my hometown of Churu and the Thar Desert.
We visited people I knew, spent time at my former school and shared experiences that went beyond the usual sightseeing route.
Vrindavan · Agra · Jaipur · Shekhawati · Jodhpur · Jaisalmer
After the journey, they invited me to Denmark. The itinerary ended, but the friendship continued.

THE PLANNING BEHIND THE STORY
The interesting part usually isn't the itinerary itself.
01
Who is travelling?
A couple, a family, an older parent, friends, students or a solo traveller all experience the same destination differently.
02
What matters to them?
Wildlife, culture, photography, comfort, food, adventure or simply enough time to absorb the place.
03
What needs solving?
Pace, transport, altitude, permits, flight changes, safari availability or competing interests.
04
What becomes memorable?
Often the unplanned moments between the headline attractions.

FROM THE ARCHIVE
Some journeys are still part of my life years later.
I have been fortunate to stay in touch with travellers from some of my earliest years in travel.
People I first met as students, volunteers or young travellers have gone on to build careers, families and lives of their own.
Some friendships have continued for more than a decade.
For me, that is one of the best measures of a journey.
Not whether every hotel was perfect.
But whether the experience meant enough for the relationship to continue after everyone went home.
WHAT TRAVELLERS SAY
A few words from people who travelled with me.

I didn’t want to carry the full organizational burden myself..
I have travelled alone in India several times before, but this time I wanted a guide because I was travelling with my almost 85-year-old mother and my sister, who were both visiting India for the first time, and I didn’t want to carry the full organizational burden myself. I was recommended Anagh Routes, and especially Nivedan, and it turned out to be an absolute stroke of luck. Already during the planning stage I asked Nivedan to design the itinerary in a way that would not overwhelm my mother. He handled this perfectly. Our journey included the magnificent temples of Khajuraho, including the famous Kamasutra temples, tiger safaris in Panna National Park and Ranthambore National Park, as well as sightseeing in Delhi and, of course, the iconic highlights of Agra and Jaipur. As a wonderful grand finale, we also celebrated the Holi festival in Mandawa. Nivedan also showed great sensitivity when choosing Mandawa as the place to experience Holi. As a small town, the celebrations were lively and colorful but not chaotic or overcrowded. This made it an ideal place for all of us — and especially for my mother — to safely enjoy and actively take part in this unique festival. What we especially appreciated was that Nivedan constantly encouraged us to try a wide variety of Indian dishes and sweets. We also travelled several longer stretches by train — not in the most basic class, but also not in luxury — which allowed us to experience India among locals and made the journey feel much more authentic. Finally, I would like to say that Nivedan himself is a truly wonderful and warm-hearted person. He takes great care of his guests, always enjoys a good conversation, and has a wonderful sense of humor. Travelling with him every day was a real pleasure. The only unfortunate thing is that our journey with him lasted just two weeks — we would happily have travelled much longer.

We are already dreaming about coming back..
Nivedan has been planning our Adventure for a 3 week trip in India. First, he carefully heard what we were looking for and suggested a plan and adapted it again - with amazing input. City & history, jungle and safari, walk in the nature & spices, all what we have dreamed about. Then, he received us in Delhi, to help us accommodate to this new culture. And when we had questions or what to figure out how to adapt the plan, he always did his best to help us. The services have been just amazing. We are already dreaming about coming back for more adventure with Nivedan.

I recommend Nivedan to everyone, including women travelling alone.
Travelling with the Anagh Route, with Nivedan as a guide, was an incredible experience. I went to India and Nepal, where I visited impressive places in Rajasthan and Ladakh, experiencing unique moments. In Nepal, I had the opportunity to closely follow Nivedan's work with the local community, something that was very special. The personalised itinerary he created for me was impeccable. He knows every detail of these places, which made all the difference in the trip. I recommend it to everyone, including women travelling alone.
